SDS follows the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste management hierarchy in recognizing that no single waste management approach can be used to manage all waste streams. The EPA Hierarchy ranks disposal strategies from most to least environmentally friendly. SDS will always choose a reduction and reuse option when they are available.

DEA Controlled Substances (DEA Registration #RS0497265)
SDS provides turnkey DEA controlled substance destruction with the addition of the SDS’s reverse distribution facility in Boyertown, Pennsylvania.
Our license allows us to handle scheduled CI, CII, CIII, CIV, CV, List 1 and List 2 controlled substances. Tracking of shipments are executed with a state-of-the-art bar code tracking system to ensure complete compliance with all DEA regulations.
All licensed technicians undergo extensive training and criminal background checks to work in our DEA division. They provide and manage all aspects of the shipment including:
- DEA documentation
- DEA reporting
- Transportation with approved and certified transporter
- GPS tracking to ensure the safe delivery of pharmaceuticals to incinerator
- 2 witnesses to verify complete destruction at disposal facility
Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Products
SDS provides secure destruction of expired pharmaceutical and health care products, as well as controlled substance waste. We help make pharmaceutical waste management affordable with a full-service model that handles:
